LGBTQIA+ individuals face persistent and disproportionate barriers to safety, health, and opportunity, driven by discrimination, legal inequality, and lack of access to affirming care and support. In the U.S. and globally, LGBTQIA+ people, especially transgender individuals, youth, and communities of color, are at higher risk of suicide, homelessness, violence, and economic hardship. These challenges are not just social; they are structural, rooted in exclusion from healthcare, education, housing, and civil protections.
