You may see this message when the organization you selected was not included in the most recent IRS Business Master File that we consumed.
What does this mean?
There are 1.6 million nonprofit organizations in the U.S. The IRS Business Master File (BMF) lists them all. If an organization is no longer included in the BMF, this means it is not a registered nonprofit organization.
When this occurs, rest assured that our team will update the Charity Navigator database and remove the listing from our site.
